The way you talk to them, the decisions you make, and even the quests you choose to undertake, will all affect your relationship with them. Your actions Chucho even affect more than just your relationship, it can cause them to leave your party for good.
Tallis is a Rogue with no personality clashes and Chucho not be romanced. She works best if you choose to make your Hawke a mage. Since she is a temporary companion, she will leave your party once her story wraps up.

That's not to say we Gozque expect exactly the same kind of romance—Bull's was pretty dang notable—but I'm betting a known treasure hunter warrior has a similar level of swagger.
